OUR
PROGRAMME
Every
country in the modem world has recognized the need of counselling Centres.
The reason is the arising of a series of Physical and mental problems that
enveloped everybody from the infant to the old one on the verge of death.
Guidance and counselling is a process aiming at a developmental target.
The main aim is to let the individual understand and solve his own Problem
by way of mediation and co-operation rather than advising.
The
rural community in Sri Lanka specially the younger generation has beencarried
away by various social forces. Some of them have failed to fulfil their
aspirations in life. Hence this is a period in which various social agencies
are desperately needed to build up the declining social relations or interpersonal
relations . In the community, there must be a new awakening which everybody
must make a contribution by making use of his knowledge. Simple programmes
should be launched to get rid of various social evils as small groups,
families and individuals. Today we need the counselling centres, having
a friendly atmosphere. Where anyone close to the public can meet another
person at any moment.
Today
we need the gathering of people having knowledge at various levels and
the sharing of knowledge. We also need to go to the people concerned and
explore their own problems and organize active programs at various levels.
At the sametime we need counsellors who are capable of providing guidance
to the children.
